This may be the best POS that is free out there. It supports a lot of different formats. I own a cafe with a gift shop in it and it supports both wonderfully. There is a separate module that does a kitchen screen that is excellent. I can run this on very old hardware under Linux. I use LUbuntu so I can use very old computers. That way when something goes wrong I just pick up another one for 20 bucks at a Goodwill pop the drive and it works great. I've been using this POS or its predecessors for at least 15 years. It does not have credit card processing integration but I kind of prefer it that way for security reasons. The little credit card box is a brilliant thing to remove liability from your business.
